Student use of Speech Computers
The school has graciously replaced our old computers with laptops and a network printer. We have been well taken care of. We have to maintain these computers so that they remain in good working order for another 4-5 years. Students will be allowed to use these computers to work on debate, forensics, and speech.
To ensure the continued working order of these computers, students and their parents/guardians must sign this statement of conditions that they agree to follow. If the statement is not signed, the student will not be allowed to use these computers.
- Students will use this computer only for school purposes, like doing research for class, or writing speeches, or papers.
- Students will not access sites that are anything like "my space", "facebook", etc.
- Students will not download anything on to the computers without permission from Ms. Hobbs.
- Students will not use the computer for e-mail without permission from Ms. Hobbs.
- Students will not play games on this computer via the internet.
- Students will not play minesweeper.
- Students will not play games on this computer when there is other work to be done, by them or by someone who is waiting on a computer.
- Students will not access music sites or other video sites (comedians, stupid stunts, etc.) without permission from Ms. Hobbs.

- If a student accesses a website by mistake, they are to notify Ms. Hobbs immediately.
- Students are responsible for the care and condition of computers checked out to them. They should only use the computer in a clean area. Avoid spilling liquids or food onto the computer. Students should be careful while moving the computer from place to place. Do not transport the computer without a computer case. Do not set the computer in a place where it is likely to fall. If something happens to the computer while it is in your possession, and you are considered to be responsible for it, you will have to pay for repair or replacement costs.
If you and your parent/guardian agree to follow these conditions, please sign and date below.
