The affirmative assignment is divided into two parts.
Part I
This assignment is worth 75 points. For your affirmative assignment you are to write a speech to be presented in 1AC as well as present extension evidence. There will be an example case provided for you. This assignment is due September 14.
REQUIREMENTS for Part I:
1) It should be readable in 8 minutes (5 points).
2) It should be clearly prima facie (i.e. it should be topical, significant, inherent, and have solvency at first glance). (28 points)

5) You need to provide extension evidence for each main contention or observation. (18 points)
6) Evidence should be real, not fabricated. (if discovered, you will receive a 0/75)
7) All claims should be justified. This means that they need evidence.
Part II
Affirmative Case – 75 points
13 points for each disad. 12 points for each topicality
Answers to disadvantages:
Prepare answers to at least 3 disadvantages – you choose which ones. You may include the disad that was started in class.
Remember to make the following kinds of answers: NO LINK, NO INTERNAL LINK, LINK TURN, NON-UNIQUE, NO IMPACT, IMPACT TURN
Don’t do link turns and impact turns together without a visual reminder, not to do both in the same round.
Answers to 3 Topicality: remember “we meets”, counter definitions, standards/counter standards, no impact
